Matagouri
Discaria toumatou
Evoking the wild character of the stony South Island riverbeds, Matagouri has tough wiry branches and small leathery leaves nestled beneath long thorns. Would make an interesting contrast plant in the garden, with brief flowering season in late summer. Extremely hardy.
