Tree Fuchsia or Kotukutuku
Fuchsia excorticata
Easily distinguished by its spreading, twisting branches and light brown, peeling bark; also has beautiful green/purple flowers Oct-Nov. Fairly hardy but prefers damp soils and plenty of sun. Possums devour it. Berries edible - can be made into jam.
