Mountain Beech or Tawhairaunui
Nothofagus s var cliffortioides
Smaller of the beech trees with graceful spreading branches and small oval leaves. Very hardy and relatively fast growing. Flowers are small and inconspicuous. Suitable for a garden with limited space. Will grow in free draining stony soils.
