Ribbonwood or Manatu
Plagianthus regius
Largest of NZ's deciduous trees. Bushy interlacing juvenile form. Mature form a round headed tree. Small white/green flowers appear as dense clusters. Hardy, will grow in dry situations but prefers rich moist soils. Withstands frosts and strong winds.
