Lancewood or Horoeka
Pseudopanax crassifolius
Remarkable and unusual tree making it a great landscape plant in all stages of growth. Juvenile stage lasts approx 10 years, then remarkable changeover to a bushy head and grey bark. Flowers are followed by large bunches of berries. Hardy to cold and wind. Grows in all soil types with good drainage.
